Sam's birthday kicked off our first fundraiser and was a great success. I am very sure it would be just what Sam wanted. The weather started off iffy but it turned out great for a swimming in the pool and barbecue. Many friends and family were there to share the fun. The pool closed at 1 a.m. but we weren't quite ready to stop so the party came back to my house. I finally threw in the towel when the sun began to rise, about 6 a.m. I'm sure Sam and John Smiled down on all, celebrating was one of Sam's greatest joy's. By the end of the night we had raised almost $5,000.00. But the money didn't stop after the party, people who didn't make it began sending checks. We are now at almost $6,000.00. It was such a great time I expect Sam's birthday to become an annual event.
